With the improvement of our quality of life, we are using more and more EPS Roman Column Do you know the processing technology of Roman columns? What precautions should we pay attention to when using them?

  

Stone columns are solid or hollow columns for architectural decoration made of marble and granite, while Roman columns generally refer to special-shaped columns with several grooves machined in the direction of the generatrix on the external surface of the cylinder. Seen from the cross section of the Roman column, its circumference is composed of straight line segments with equal dimensions and concave part of the circumference segments, which are connected in equal intervals. The grooves on Roman columns are usually not connected at the position close to the column base and cap. According to the different column heights, Roman columns can be integral columns made of whole stones, or columns made of several sections of columns, column bases, and column caps. As long as the processing accuracy of the equipment can meet the requirements, the matching degree between the splicing joints and grooves between Roman column components can meet the requirements.

  

The preparation requirements for raw materials and blanks for processing Roman columns are the same as those for ordinary columns, and the processes and requirements for processing Roman columns are basically the same as those for processing ordinary columns, except that a slotting process is added. Therefore, the requirements for Roman column processing equipment are different. At least two diamond saw blade power heads that can move along the axis of the cylinder and rotate 0-360 degrees at the processing position are required to install a circular milling cutter with circular arc cutting section for slotting diamond nuggets, and a mechanism that can position the rotation angle of the cylinder.

Generally, on the NC lathe with basic configuration, AC servo motors are used to drive the rotation of cylindrical blanks, which are controlled by the NC system. The rotation angle can be arbitrarily indexed and positioned; Moreover, they are equipped with a saw blade power head. As long as an auxiliary part is added to the power head, the saw blade can rotate 0-360 degrees. There are three ways to control the saw blade rotation: manual, manual motor drive and CNC full automatic control. The numerical control lathe can be used to process the column body of the Roman column and the column body part combined with the column base and the column cap.

  

On the CNC milling machine equipped with a 0-360 degree rotating saw blade power head, or on the stone milling machine with other control methods, install a set of cylindrical rotary support and indexing accessories, and can also process Roman column products, but pay attention to whether the vertical lifting distance of the cutter meets the requirements of the diameter of the processed products. The numerical control rope saw with the control system above two dimensions can also be used to process the Roman column, but only the column part of the Roman column can be processed.

  

There is also a special-shaped column similar to the Roman column, which is called the quincunx column in China. The circumference of its cross section is equivalently connected by the circular curve segments of convex parts. This quincunx cylinder can be processed by using a milling disc with concave diamond agglomerations inlaid, and the equipment requirements are the same as those for processing Roman columns.

  

Roman columns are generally decorated with matt or chiseled and burned surfaces. In case of matt decoration, the glossiness of the outer surface can reach the level after machining with diamond tools. If you need to polish the Roman column, polish the cylindrical part of its outer surface, because it is difficult to polish in the groove. If bright groove surface is required, manual polishing with soft abrasive disc is the only way.
